It the small size is the most important I guess it is not too bad, but I would think you should go for at least 2GB ram, Vista, and a dual processor. It is the best mini notebook on the market BUT did you say it was for a college student who watches dvds w/ his laptop? well this computer is so small it does NOT have a Disc Drive to put DVD's in but you can buy an external drive you plug in and it works just as good! But if you're looking for a small laptop to use this is the one to get but if you're looking for a replacement for a regluar laptop you can get a better one than this for $400 but it will be bigger and not as portable and not as cool. But $400 for the 160gb model you are describing is the average price but since it comes with the extra software and 4gb flash drive its a good buy.
