I got fired from a job in another Country for falsifying my record (stretched job titles in a previous job) and on my resume to get a job. The job barely lasted for 3 months, and was in my home Country. This happened about 4 and a half years back. I learned from that mistake, and I moved on, and here I am, in the USA now.
I told my current employer honestly about this bad patch in my life, but they were okay with it. I even listed this job that I lost on their application form.
Now my company wants me to clear a Govt security investigation. I have answered all questions honestly - Even to the question that asks if I was ever fired, I have said YES, and provided a brief explanation - without going too much into details.
That being said, am I going to be in trouble if the firing company slams me and gives a very negative feedback that I falsified records, etc?
By the way, I have no criminal records or any credit issues anywhere
This probably depends what level of clearance you are going for. The basic clearance you would probably be ok, any higher you may have a problem but I doubt it.
Should be no problem!
