change your phone number. And next time pay your bills. If you guys or your mom have a home you own, when you refinance, you can add those bills in the mortage and they'll be paid off and all you have to do is keep paying the mortage on your home.

here is a possible option... collectors are paid, in many cases, on how many peope they help... not how many people pay.. i know it sounds crazy but hear me out.. DON'T change your # this will cause problems for other people as calls will go to former employers, ex girlfriends, and lots of other places where you don't need you business spread around.. Do actually listen to the collector, in most cases the first minute or so is a script that "must be read" for quality, then they may go off script and answer all questions.. there are programs like a hardship program where you pay monthly payments( when you ssi gets in) and you can also request a settelment that in many cases will cut you bill in half!!! don't ever hang up though cause the answer is there.. you just have to find the right collector to help you.. if you are not getting the answers you want.. call back or talk to a supervisor.. once you show you are ready and willing to work with a creditor they will bend over backwards to help!! there is of course one final way to stop the calls but it is a cop out and very low on your part.. it is dishonest .. it shows you don't care about obligations you have made and put you name on therefor showing you can't be trusted in the future with loans.. after all a credit card is aloan with a bank.. write a "cease and decist" letter and give it 30 days.. just put you don't care about bills and not to call you because you have no consideration for those who try to help you "by loaning money" and the calls will stop, your account will charge off and if you think your credit is bad now just wait till that happens.. also if you have any kids that will be ready for college in the next 10 years this may ruin their chances due to no student loans.. college kids have no credit so whos do they run for a student loan???? yours!

There is a law that prohibits collectors from forcing you to pay debts (providing they were made prior to your eligbility for Soc..Sec disability payments) from your disability income called "Jugement Proof".
Also , if your only source of income is Soc. Sec. then you will qualiify for Legal aid.
Do you have a "211" line in your state? They can be very helpful.
Hope this info helps!
