How much do you pay for home security and what company is it?

I’m thinking of putting home alarm system in my house. I live in chicago, IL. Just wanted to get some ideas or suggest about who to go with and what other options are there?

    In the uk they are generally ignored as they keep going off for no reason.CCTV and infra red beams would probably do a better job.My home security is a machete and its worked very well so far

    German shepherd mix and a hand cannon. The dog was a $350 adoption fee and the hand cannon was about $750 at a gun show.
