Pick a cop show ……..any will do so long as it is recent

They are chasing the bad guy to save the universe and rescue the kitten — and they pull up on every last person of the least of interest to the main player details of their lives purchases school records phone calls and so on possible — real time tracking of movements real time purchase records — satilite imagery You name it they do it

How much of that is based in reality and how much of that is straight forward social conditioning to a big brother state Orwell predicted

GPS locator for your little boy or girl slips into their pants and you can track jr from space
ONSTAR that can open or lock your car doors talk to you shut your car off or record any excited utterances you make after a tramautic accident that very well could invalidate your insurance claim
Home security devices that allow 2 way communication and monitor the home 24 7
GPS locators in the cell phones and at the very least rumors they can be turned on remotely to record any conversation your having covertly

RFID chips that are passive and can read an item and active chips that can be read from space Chips in your car in your bank card in you passport etc etc etc

How much of the "entertainment" is based in existing practiced technology and how much is social conditioning

If it is conditioning — tell me how conditioned are you ?

Most is existing, some is on the drawing board.

See Oak Ridge Labs (Where the A bomb was invented)

They are presently working on Nano Technology.

Tiny batteries that can discharge in a split second. The product might be a miniature war head at hand gun size that can actually have functional fins and be a GUIDED missile. The trigger will just take a digital image of the target and the weapon does the rest sending the projectile to where ever the target goes with no input from the operator.
No wasted rounds. One shot, one kill.

Next. Similar technology used in neuro gas weapons that can select and incapacitate targets according to size, shape, gender, race, armament status, location, movement, dwell time, or a number of other criteria dictated by field conditions. A non-lethal asset that will have a greater demoralizing affect on enemies who have no regard for their own lives. Soft terror.

It will be some time before you see these weapons in entertainment because the concept is too utterly fantastic to contemplate and the audience prefers blood and guts.

Yes, it’s true. The powers want us to believe in an all encompassing government and to just not care and be in apathy about it. Controlled by an elite group.

You can opt out if you don’t like those technologies in an Orwellian state you’d have no choice but to accept them.

I think it is probably a combination of existing practice and conditioning. TV has always been a way to "sell" the latest gadgets. Personally I don’t use any of those things other than the occasional use of a credit card.

    I guess I’m pretty unruly.

    * I have a cellphone that I load only when we go on trips. I find the availability that cell phones provide annoying. I’m usually at home, work or running short errands. If you can’t reach me it’s because I’m busy, call back later.

    * My kids are grown. They track me down, not vice versa. When they were little, I acted like a parent and made it my mission to know where they were by providing rules and making them check in with us.

*My home security system is a 140 lb dog and a neighborhood watch system

If the "grid" ever goes down, it’ll still be a pretty typical day for us.

Enough to know I’m circumspect enough to have nothing to fear other than a fine for littering
smoking within 4 metres of a shop entrance
lighting a fire bigger than a bbq
etc, etc – all annoyances that pale in comparison
IF a little of big brother saves the life of a child, vindicates innocence,
    or penalises a criminal
    call me conditioned!
