I received my Pansonic Lumix DMC-LZ3 at Christmas, 2006. I took it to Mexico about two weeks ago, and it worked fine there. It was unused in my purse through security and for about a week after I came home, but I don’t remember it taking any bumps or getting wet. I tried to upload my pictures about 4 days ago and the camera won’t turn on, either when attached to the computer or unattached. I’ve tried new batteries, and charging my Ni-MH batteries. Nothing seems to work. I’m a month over the end of my warranty, so when I called Pansonic they wanted 1 to look at it. Any suggestions on how I can save my camera? It’s been a great camera and this was my first problem with it.

  1. fhotoace says:

Do two things. First copy all your images over to your computer using a nice $10 card reader.

Next "reset" your camera. There are instructions in your cameras manual … or on line at Panasonic’s website.

That should do it. If not at least all your images are saved and you can take your camera into a repair place and see what can be done.
