Should the USA government install CCTV in every home in the country?

I think it is a good idea; it will help crack down on terrorism and child abuse.

Plus with CCTV police will be able to enter homes without permission and without a warrant and to make things better it may lead to a ban on guns and only the police will own them; do you have any idea how SAFE that makes me feel?

I don’t care if the government sees me having sex or using the toilet; I would give anything; ANYTHING to see the UK be safe again. Install the CCTV.

I have no problem with CCTV and microphones and 2 way mirrors in every room in my house. I have nothing to hide; do you……..?

You need to read 1984, by George Orwell. Big Brother Is Watching, and it is not a good thing.

Sure - starting with your house. Let me know the website it will be broadcast on, ok?

Before you go a step further, go read George Orwell’s book titled 1984…

i really hope you are being sarcastic if not then i will answer you via a Ben Franklin paraphrase: anyone who sacrifices liberty for security shall receive and deserves neither

It would be incredibly expensive just to install the systems. Then it would be incredibly boring for anyone to monitor the systems. It would do little to prevent terrorism and child abuse, not to mention any other crimes and it would be unconstitutional to start with, making everything gleaned from the CCTV systems inadmissible in any court.

You stated you think it is a good idea. This idea is stupid, come on be serious.

  8. Jerry Lee says:

    No

    a) It would cost money that .gov does *not* have

    b) It would be much more obvious than simply monitoring the internets.

    c) It assumes lots of people are criminal, and people might live up to expectations.

    d) Monitoring implies responsibility. Gov becomes more responsible for not catching people sooner.
