My house was robbed ; the police came by and took pictures, and are now planning on combing the neighborhood. I was out of town, but my family was home (although they were not in the house at the time thank God). I plan on getting a security system hooked up once I get there, but what can I do mean time in hope of getting my property back or replaced? What other recourse is available? This violation of my home has got me pissed, and on edge, and my wife and kids are upset, not to mention that it is all just before Christmas!!!

You did the right thing by calling the police when you learned your home had been burglarized. Let them do their job, and don’t resort to self help, other than to install the security measures. I know how violated you feel when your home has been ransacked and your property stolen, but it’s best to calm down and keep your eyes open.
its ok, my house got robbed a month ago too. its frustrating, i know. just remember, nobody got hurt. most robbers are teenagers, and what goes around, comes around. so, those people did something bad, something bad would happen to them. also, its just MONEY. money can always be replaced. getting robbed also has a bright side. now, ur the safest house on your street. the robbers wont come back to ur house, they already robbed ur house. so no worries
. and if you have kids, its a good thing. now you know what will be on their wishlist for christmas! my boyl was the saddest of everyone in my family. i told him it was okay, and he would get EVERYTHING back in a blink of an eye. He felt much better about the whole thing and moved on with his life. last but not least, god is on your side……
